The College of St. Catherine athletic department is pleased to announce that Celestine Ventura (So., La Puente, Calif.) has been named Wildcat Athlete of the Week for her peformance at this past weekend's CSB/SJU Quadrangular Meet.

Ventura set the new school record in the shot put for the second time this season. This time she bettered her previous throw of 12.24 meters (40-2 ft) with a record throw of 12.83 meters, a throw that took home first place at the meet and is also the longest throw in the MIAC this season. Ventura's throw not only sets a new Wildcat record but also provisionally qualifies her for the NCAA national meet.

Ventura and the rest of her teammates retuen to action on February 29 at the Ole Open in Northfield, Minn.
