The St. Kate's 4 x 400 meter relay team of Kelsey Eder, Kim Engel, Kayla Engel and Erin Coughlin became the first relay team in St. Kate's history to capture an MIAC title. The Wildcats did it in dramatic fashion, taking the lead on the final leg and holding off strong challenges from both Gustavus and St. Ben's.

The win was especially sweet for seniors Kim and Kayla Engel. The duo had four runner-up finishes in the 4x400 during their indoor and outdoor track careers heading into this, the final race of their careers. All four team members earned MIAC All-Conference honors with their victory. Their time of 3:57.37 in the chilly, rainy conditions was a season best and is #2 all-time at St. Kate's.
