GRINNELL, Iowa -- St. Catherine finished the back half of the Grinnell Invite highlighted by relays and individual performances in the IM and backstroke. St. Kate's finished ninth overall scoring 131 team points led by
Olivia Weil scoring 19 points.
The Wildcats' A relay finished 13th in the 200-yard medley relay (1:58.39), with
Jordyn Grotbo, Weil,
Natalie Chandler, and
Ella Hochstetler combining for a competitive showing in a large field.
Individually,
Sierra Hermansen led SCU in the 400 IM, placing 11th (5:10.53), followed closely by Grotbo in 14th (5:14.67) and
Nicolette Harvey in 16th (5:18.30), giving the Wildcats three swimmers inside the top 16. Weil added a 13th-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.92), while Hochstetler continued a strong meet with a 13th-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:19.59).
Additional contributions came from Chandler in the 100 fly and 200 back, along with multiple Wildcats competing across sprint and distance events, including the 200 free and 50 free. SCU also entered multiple relay combinations throughout the meet, gaining valuable experience and depth racing against regionally strong competition.
St. Kate's has one remaining regular season meet on the schedule before the 2026 MIAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championship. The Wildcats host the Augsburg Auggies on Friday, January 30 for senior day at 5:30 pm.
