MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University swimming and diving team had a strong day of performances at the 2026 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships Friday with four Wildcats earning a spot in the finals session. After day three at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota, the Wildcats remain in sixth place scoring 55 points Friday. 

Senior Ella Hochstetler highlighted the finals session for St. Kate's competing in two A finals. Hochstetler placed eighth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.16 and later returned to finish sixth in the 100 backstroke in 58.86. 

Junior Jordyn Grotbo added a B-final appearance in the 200 freestyle, finishing 15th overall in 1:59.98. Senior Sierra Hermansen represented the Wildcats in the 100 breaststroke B final, placing 14th in 1:10.11. 

The evening finished with the 200 freestyle relay, where the team of Grotbo, Natalie Chandler, Hochstetler, and Nicolette Harvey combined for a 1:39.50 finish earning sixth. 

The 2026 championships conclude on Saturday with St. Kate's appearing in 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, the 1650 freestyle and the 400 freestyle relay to finish the event.
