ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University basketball team dropped a tight MIAC match up Saturday afternoon a Butler Center, falling 53-40 to Gustavus Adolphus. The loss puts the Wildcats at 6-7 with a conference record of 1-5.

St. Kate's was right there through three quarters, tied 15-15 after one, up 23-22 at the half, and still within two heading into the fourth but Gustavus closed the game with a decisive 15-2 final quarter to pull away.

St. Catherine got early rhythm from the perimeter knocking down three triples in the opening quarter. Jordyn Peed finished with a team high 11 points, while Hattie Fox added ten and eight rebounds. Raya Cassidy chipped in nine, including a pair of free throws to put the Wildcats back in from late in the second quarter. Defensively, the Wildcats created chances with ten steals but recorded 20 turnovers.
