Golf adds five to roster for fall

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Catherine University head golf coach, Mary Giorgi, announced the addition of five newcomers to the Wildcat golf roster for the 2025-26 academic year. The five join senior Lolla Magrann and sophomore Caylin Cantwell as the program's returners following their historic season. 

"We are looking forward to starting our season with five new golfers and Coach Herzog, said Giorgi. We are so excited to have a young team and develop our new players over their four years on and off the course. This group of golfers is extremely athletic and eager to learn, which will make for a fun year. I can't wait to get started! 

Raquel Ahrens | New Prague, Minn. / New Prague
At New Prague High School, Raquel was a four year all-conference selection graduating with high distinction in 2025. Ahrens was a member of National Honor Society, student council, Spanish club and Link Crew. She plans to study Business Administration and Economics. 

Why Raquel chose St. Kate's Golf:  "I chose St. Kate's because I could tell when I walked on campus that it was a perfect fit for me. The history around the campus made me feel like there was meaning in my attendance. The facilities were also exactly what I was looking for! The golf team was also very welcoming and kind to me which convinced me that St. Kate's was the right choice!"

Arivia DeBoer | Glenwood, Minn. / Minnewaska Area
At Minnewaska Area High School, Arivia competed in the MSHSL State Girls' Golf Tournament from 2021-2025 earning the all-state golf award in 2022 and 2025. She was named team captain during her sophomore through senior seasons and was named team MVP in 2022. She graduated from Minnewaska with honors and plans to study Business and Policitcal Science. 

Why Arivia chose St. Kate's Golf: "In addition to the effective balance between academics and athletics, Coach Giorgi and the golf team were the ultimate reasons for my decision to further my education at St. Kate's! I knew from the start that this team was the fit for me. They are highly motivated and have a rare group dynamic. My experiences with them are already welcoming and make me even more excited to play college golf!"

Emma Dobbins | La Crosse, Wis. / Aquinas
Emma comes to St. Kate's as a four-year varsity member of the Aquinas golf team making it to the WIAA State Tournament. She was a two-time team regional champion and was selected twice as a first-team all-conference honoree. She also earned all-conference honorable mention, was a two-time all-conference sportsmanship award recipient and all-state honorable mention. Off the course, she earned academic all-state four times and was academic all-conference each year of high school. Emma plans to study Marketing and Digital Strategy with a minor in Business Analytics. 

Why Emma chose St. Kate's Golf: "I chose St. Kate's Golf because it combined my love for the game with a supportive and competitive environment that will help me grow on and off the course!"

Sydney Dodds | Cincinnati, Ohio / Anderson
Coming from Cincinnati, Ohio, Sydney was a four-year all-conference academic and athletic selection. She was a three-time member of the all-district team and was a state qualifier for the Ohio State Girls' Golf Championships. Sydney was voted most improved and was awarded the Team Dany Celenza Award which honors sportsmanship. She was an avid member of her National Honor Society and was part of DECA. She plans to study marketing and sport management at St. Kate's. 

Why Sydney chose St. Kate's Golf: "I chose St. Kate's because of the quality of education, the competitive golf program, and how welcome I felt on my visit. Even though I'm from far away, everyone I met during my visit made it feel like home!"

Kali Hanson | Lindstrom, Minn. / Chisago Lakes
Kali was a two-sport athlete at Chisago Lakes competing in golf and hockey. On the course, she was a five-year member of the varsity team earning all-conference twice and participating in the MSHSL state tournament three times. In hockey, she was a four-year varisty member winning the Hobey Baker Award as a senior. She graduated with honors from Chisago Lakes earned academic letters three times. She plans to study business administration while at St. Kate's. 

Why Kali chose St. Kate's Golf: "I chose St. Kate's because from the moment I stepped on campus, it just felt right. The balance between academics and athletics really stood out, but what truly made my decision easy was the golf team and Coach Giorgi. Everyone was so welcoming and I could tell right away that this team had something special. The campus itself had amazing history and facilities, this made me feel like my time here would have meaning. I'm already excited for what's ahead and can't wait to play college golf with this amazing group!"

The Wildcats kick off the season August 30 traveling to Sartell, Minnesota to play in the annual College of Saint Benedict event at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course.
