NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- St. Catherine University golf senior
Kyra Venne won her fifth individual title on Sunday pacing the Wildcats to second team victory of the spring season at Willingers Golf Club in Northfield, Minnesota. The first team finished +48 with a 317-307 for a two day score of 624. St. Kate's second team finished third overall with a score of 651.
Venne had a five birdie performance on Sunday carding a two under par 70 with a 36-hole round of 148. Behind Venne on the first team was
Morgan Anderson who shaved five strokes from her first round for a 76 (+4) to place fifth individually. Senior
Paige Hillman added two strokes moving into seventh place with an 81 (+9) and
Caylin Cantwell recorded an overall score of 82 (+10) to finish tied for tenth. Sophomore
Grace Petzold had an eight over par round on Sunday to finish 14th overall.
Junior
Emma Almquist was the runner-up along with Carleton's Carter Sichol shooting 75 (+3) on the second day, a five stroke improvement from round one.
Emmie Verhaagh followed with a round of 84 (+12) tying for 21st.
Katie Reeves was next for the second team improving four strokes to tie for 28th and
Jaycee Rhodes shot 87 (+15) in 32nd followed by
Lolla Magrann with an 84 to tie for 33rd.
The Wildcats have one final regular season tournament remaining, hosting the St. Catherine/Carleton Spring Invite next weekend with the first round at Rush Creek Golf Course on Saturday and The Jewel on Sunday in Lake City.
