MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University tennis team fell to the No. 39 ranked Bethel University Royals at Baseline Tennis Center, 8-1 on Thursday evening.
In doubles action, the Royals claimed the first three points of the match sweeping doubles action. At No. 1
Kelsey Dorr and
Caitlyn Stadter fell at 8-3 before
Erica Wing and
Faith Simon dropped the No. 2 match by the same score. At No. 3,
Monica Zink and
Ashley King fell 8-5.
The Wildcats lone point came from Dorr in the No. 1 singles match as she defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-1. The Royals claimed the other five matches downing Simon at No. 2 6-4, 6-0, Stadter at No. 3 6-3, 6-3 and Zink 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4.
Liliana Holmberg battled at No. 5 falling in the tiebreaker 3-6, 6-3, 0-1 and
Marie Pelletier fought to a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) match falling at No. 6.
The Wildcats have one final regular season match on the schedule as the face Hamline University on April 25 on the road. The first round of MIAC playoffs is scheduled to begin April 30 with the high seed hosting.
