Game Recap: Softball |

Win streak continues as Wildcats tally 29 runs in 2-0 day

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- The St. Catherine University softball team remains undefeated in Florida as they went 2-0 on Thursday tallying 29 runs in just ten innings played. The Wildcats improve to 7-3 overall with two games remaining on THE Spring Game schedule for the purple and gold.

GAME ONE | St. Catherine 9, Utica 0 (5 innings)
St. Catherine took control early, scoring three runs in the first inning, capped by an RBI single from Annie Cook. They extended their lead with two more runs in the second, thanks to a clutch hit by Sam Aronson. Utica struggled to generate offense, managing just a few scattered hits. The Wildcats added to their advantage in the fourth and fifth innings, with key RBIs from Kylee Kohout and Grace Swigart, sealing a dominant 9-0 victory. Their pitching and defense held Utica scoreless, securing the shutout win.

Hannah Bernier pitched the complete game striking out four and walking two allowing zero runs off of five hits. Helen McKinnon was 3 for 4 with two runs with G. Swigart was walked twice scoring three runs and driving in the final run to secure the walk off run rule win.

GAME TWO | St. Catherine 20, Skidmore 1 (5 innings)
St. Kate's offense exploded early, scoring four runs in the first inning, highlighted by G. Swigart's RBI double. They continued to build their lead with a run in the second and four more in the third, capitalizing on Skidmore's defensive miscues. A five-run fourth inning, featuring a two-run triple by G. Swigart, pushed their lead to 14-1. In the fifth, the Wildcats added six more runs, sealing a dominant 20-1 victory. Skidmore managed a lone run in the third, but their offense struggled against St. Catherine's pitching.

Taylor Graf won in the circle pitching two innings collecting one strikeout. Sarah Christy entered in the third inning allowing one run while recording one strikeout facing eleven batters. Mayci Larson was 2 for 3 with four runs, two RBI and one double while G. Swigart delivered two runs and three RBI hitting 2 for 4 including a double. Aronson and Cook each hit 3 for 3 with two RBI while Natalee Sigfrids had three RBI hitting 1 for 2 with one run.

St. Kate's will face Loras College on Friday before taking on Catholic University to close out the team's annual spring break trip.
