MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University swimming and diving team finished day three of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships with nine top-three performances and xx career best times. St. Kate's currently sits in fifth places with a score off 288, with one day of competition remaining.
Senior
J Dombroski kicked off the evening session coming in third place overall in the 400-yard individual medley. Dombroski's career best time of 4:37.65 was .04 seconds faster then their preliminary trials time of 4:41.06.
Mira Gupta recorded a PR time of 5:08.57 in prelims ahead of
Richanta Pollard in at 5:15.94 and
Maka Chikowero clocking a PR of 5:28.90.
Senior
Emma Svendsen finished as the MIAC champion in the 100-yard butterfly for the third consecutive year on Friday evening with a time of 57.64. Junior
Natalie Chandler also competed in finals for the 100-fly coming in eleventh overall with a time of 59.97. In preliminary trials, sophomore
Eloise McKeon finished with a career best time of 1:07.56.
Jordyn Grotbo and
Nicolette Harvey competed in the B final for the 200-yard freestyle with Grotbo in at 2:00.13. Harvey recorded career best times in both prelims and finals of the 200-free clocking in at 2:01.81 in the evening, good for 16th overall.
Ava Hacker and
Charlotte Johnson also recorded career best times in prelims with Hacker in at 2:03.85 and Johnson at 2:07.96.
Olivia Weil had a day recording a career best time in the preliminary trials of the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.27. Weil went on to claim runner-up honors in finals touching the wall at 1:06.36.
Avery Doom was the top finisher in the B final of the 100-breast in at 1:08.53. Also competing in prelims of the event was
Sierra Hermansen who was just shy of finals coming in at 1:10.96.
Ella Hochstetler finished the 100-yard backstroke in fifth with a time of 57.96 while
Shea Bradley was in the B final with a time of 1:03.14.
The day closed with the 200-yard freestyle relay and the team of Grotbo, Hacker, Chandler, and Harvey in at 1:41.31 in seventh place.
The final day of competition will commence Saturday morning with prelims. Day fours events include the 1650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, women's 1 meter diving and closes with the 400-yard freestyle relay.
