Wildcats in fourth after first day of MIAC Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University swimming and diving team kicked off the 2025 MIAC Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday evening appearing in two relays. St. Kate's is currently fourth with a score of 60 before heading into the next three days of competition. 

The Wildcats first event of the evening was the 200-yard medley relay with the team of Ella Hochstetler, Olivia Weil, Emma Svendsen, and Jordyn Grotbo clocking a fifth place time of 1:47.31. 

The same relay team appeared in the 800-yard freestyle relay led by Hochstetler and followed by Weil, Grotbo and Svendsen registering a third place time of 7:48.64. 

On the schedule for Thursday is the 500-yard freestyle, the 200-yard individual medley, the 50-yard freestyle, women's 3m diving and closes with the 400-yard medley relay. Preliminary trials are scheduled for 10:30 am with finals set for 6:30 pm.
