ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University basketball team opened the 2025-26 season with a dominating 78-59 win over the visiting Yellowjackets from the University of Wisconsin-Superior inside of Butler Center on Friday evening.

Jordyn Peed led all scorers with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting, adding four rebounds and four steals. Hattie Fox followed closely with 17 points, seven boards, and a pair of assists, while Julia Harmon provided an efficient spark off the bench with 7 points in just nine minutes.

Lily Peper and Elle Covey each chipped in 5 and 6 points, with Covey knocking down a key fourth-quarter three. Kate Flicek added 6 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal, and Kristen Oberle contributed 5 points and 2 assists.

St. Kate's shot 44% from the field and 44% from beyond the arc (8-of-18) while forcing 15 Yellowjacket turnovers that led to 25 points off miscues. The Wildcats also received 26 points from their bench and outscored Superior 24–17 in the third quarter to build a double-digit cushion they never relinquished.

St. Kate's returns to action on Saturday traveling to Macalester College for a non-conference game scheduled for 4 pm.
