Wildcats drop MIAC opener to Cobbers on the road

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University basketball team fell 56–42 on the road Wednesday night against Concordia-Moorhead in the MIAC opener. With the loss, the Wildcats move to 3–2 overall and 0–1 in conference play.

After a low-scoring first half, the Wildcats trailed just 18–15 at the break before Concordia used a 26-point third quarter to create the separation needed to close out the game.
 
Hattie Fox led St. Catherine with 17 points, adding five rebounds, three steals, and two assists while playing 34 minutes. Elle Covey finished with 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting and pulled down eight rebounds. Jordyn Peed contributed five points, five rebounds, and two steals, and Lily Peper added three points, three assists, and a team-high three blocks.
 
St. Catherine shot 30 percent from the field and 3-of-19 from beyond the arc while Concordia finished with seven made threes and a 48–34 advantage on the glass, including 20 offensive rebounds.
 
The Wildcats travel to Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. for the Hyatt Place Tournament. St. Kate's faces the Vikings on Friday, November 21 at 5 pm and based on the results of day one, they will either face Concordia-Wisconsin or Greenville University the following day.
