Wildcats celebrate Senior Day with 2-0 win over Wis.-Superior

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The St. Catherine University soccer team celebrated the senior class on Sunday afternoon, defeating Wisconsin-Superior 2–0 to improve to 13-2 on the season. The shutout is the team's third in a row and tenth this fall.

The Wildcats wasted no time asserting control, striking in the seventh minute when Natalie Pfleger netted her fifth goal of the season off a perfectly built play from seniors Anna Isaacson and Bella Meier. The momentum continued in the 33rd minute as Lydia Benson doubled the lead with her fourth goal of the season, converting on a composed finish to make it 2–0. From there, the Wildcats' defense took over, stifling the Yellowjackets to just five shots on goal across 90 minutes.

In net, Brianna Valdez earned her tenth shutout of the year with five saves, including two crucial stops in the second half to preserve the clean sheet.

The match served as a celebration for St. Kate's senior class — Briana Henaman, Bella Meier, Maren Schoeberl, Ella Kelly, Ayah Makled, Natalie Pfleger, Taylor Takeuchi, Haley GlassAnna Isaacson, and Ashley Fugitt — all recognized before kickoff for their leadership and contributions to the program's continued success.

The Wildcats return to MIAC play, hosting Bethel University on Wednesday before Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday.
