ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision to the Gustavus Adolphus College Golden Gusties on Friday evening at Drake Arena. The MIAC loss lands the Wildcats at 2-7-0 with an overall record of 4-11-1.
The Gusties opened scoring seven minutes into the game taking the 1-0 lead after the first. They added a power play goal five minutes into the second frame before adding their third ten minutes later. Gustavus added their fourth 12 minutes into the third and sealed the 5-0 victory three minutes later.
Ana Myers led the shot count with five on net while
Lea Grassia made 22 saves including 11 in the first period.
The Wildcats travel to St. Peter on Saturday for game two the of MIAC series with a 2 pm scheduled puck drop.
