ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University soccer team extended their win streak downing the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Sunday afternoon. With the two teams meeting for the first time in program history, the Wildcats earned the 1-0 defeat to improve to 3-0.
The Wildcats lone goal was scored by sophomore
Ayah Makled in the 63rd minute of play assisted by first-year
Elyse Snortum, both recording their first points on the season.
St. Kate's led the shot count against UW-Oshkosh firing off 24 to their ten led by
Claire Cater and
Kallie Tuominen each contributing five. Fifth-year
Kate Praetz made five saves in the game to extend her career shutouts record to 33.
The Wildcats travel to southern California next to face Claremont Mudd Scripps and Pomona Pitzer returning home to St. Kate's field on Wednesday, September 18 to open MIAC play against Saint Mary's.
