NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- St. Catherine University soccer delivered a dominating performance downing the St. Olaf College Oles on the road Saturday. The win advances St. Kate's to 5-2 overall with a MIAC showing of 2-0.
St. Kate's took the lead in the 31st minute as graduate student
Claire Cater got her first goal in a Wildcat uniform with help from
Natalie Pfleger. Less than five minutes later graduate student
Ari Green scored the team's second point with a successful PK goal going into the half 2-0.
St. Olaf scored their lone goal of the game off a corner in the 60th minute but St. Kate's responded with two more goals for the 4-1 victory. The Wildcats third goal was scored by first-year
Lydia Benson with the assist going to
Ashley Fugitt before Green tallied her second of the game with help from
Sydney Nelson and
Mallory Johnson.
St. Kate's trailed in the shot count with six shots on goal to the Oles ten as fifth-year
Kate Praetz earned the win making nine saves.
The Wildcats travel to River Falls, Wisconsin on Wednesday, September 25 for a non-conference game against the Falcons.
