DULUTH, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University tennis team took down the College of St. Scholastica, 5-4, at Duluth Indoor Sports Center on Sunday. The win improves the Wildcats' record to 5-3 in conference play with a 10-4 record overall.
Kelsey Dorr and
Sofia Walker earned an 8-2 victory in the No. 1 doubles position as
Erin Loterbauer and
Erica Wing won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles. The Saints claimed the No. 2 doubles win over
Monica Zink and
Faith Simon 8-2.
Dorr won at No. 1 singles with a 7-5, 6-2 match. Zink downed her singles opponent at No. 5 6-3, 6-0 and
Liliana Holmberg sealed the team's win at No. 6 with a 6-2, 6-3 victory after the overall score was tied at 4-4.
The Saints won at No. 2 over Walker 6-4, 6-1, No. 3 over Simon 6-2, 6-4, and at No. 4 defeating Loterbauer 6-4, 6-3.
St. Catherine has two regular season matches remaining on the schedule currently tied in the No. 4 spot along with Macalester College. Up next for St. Kate's hosts Hamline University on Friday, April 26 before traveling to Bethel University on Saturday, April 27.
