ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University tennis team edged out University of Northwestern-St. Paul in a 7-2 non-conference match. The win advances St. Kate's to 9-4 overall.
St. Kate's swept the Eagles in doubles play with
Kelsey Dorr and
Sofia Walker taking the No. 1 match 8-3.
Faith Simon and
Monica Zink were successful at No. 2 doubles with a 8-5 win and
Erin Loterbauer and
Marie Pelletier dominated at No. 3 with an 8-1 victory.
Dorr added another singles win to her record at No. 1 claiming the match at 6-2, 6-1. Walker swept her opponent at No. 2 6-0, 6-0 and Loterbauer won at No. 4 6-0, 6-2. The final point for the Wildcats was in the No. 6 singles match as
Liliana Holmberg downed the Eagles 6-3, 6-2. Simon dropped her match at No. 3 falling 6-3, 6-4 and
Anna Luksik dropped the No. 5 singles match in a 10-6 tiebreaker.
St. Kate's will travel to Duluth on Sunday, April 21 for a 12:30 pm match at Duluth Indoor Sports Center facing the College of St. Scholastica.
