ORLANDO, Fla. -- The St. Catherine University tennis team fell to Division II opponent Minnesota State University Moorhead on Wednesday morning at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. The loss snaps the Wildcats three-match win streak putting them at 5-2 on the season.
Kelsey Dorr and
Monica Zink won at No. 1 doubles 6-3 while
Faith Simon and
Erica Wing secured the doubles points for the Wildcats with a 7-6 (7-5) win at No. 2.
Marie Pelletier and
Anna Luksik dropped their match at No. 3 doubles falling 6-3.
In singles play, Dorr dropped her first singles match of the season falling 7-6( 7-2), 6-4. At No. 2, Luksik fell 6-1, 6-1 and Simon dropped her first singles match at No. 3 falling 7-6 (7-5), 6-1.
Erin Loterbauer won the lone point in singles play for St. Kate's winning 6-4, 1-6 with the tiebreaker going 10-8. At No. 5, Zink was defeated 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, while dropping the tiebreaker 10-8.
Liliana Holmberg played the No. 6 match falling 6-3, 6-3.
St. Kate's will finish their spring break trip on Thursday playing another Division II opponent in Shippensburg University.
