ORLANDO, Fla. -- The St. Catherine University tennis team opened their annual spring break trip with an 8-1 win over Emerson College at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
The day opened with singles play and the Wildcats going 5-1.
Kelsey Dorr won at No. 1 singles with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
Faith Simon was victorious at No. 3 downing the Lions player 6-2, 6-3 and
Erin Loterbauer won at No. 4 6-2, 6-0.
Monica Zink tallied the same score at No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-0 and
Liliana Holmberg won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6. The lone point going to the Lions on Tuesday morning was the No. 2 singles match with
Anna Luksik falling 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles play, Dorr and Zink won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles and the No. 2 doubles team of
Faith Simon and
Erica Wing won 8-3. The final point of the match was won at No. 3 by
Marie Pelletier and Luksik by a score of 8-1.
St. Kate's plays Division II opponent, Minnesota State University Moorhead on Wednesday, March 13 in Orlando.
