ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University basketball team continued their historic season winning the program's first-ever home MIAC playoff game and their second MIAC playoff game in program history. As the No. 3 seed, the Wildcats defeated the No. 6 ranked Hamline University Pipers in the first-ever double overtime 70-65 in playoff history. The last time St. Kate's claimed a MIAC playoff victory was in 2010 defeated the No. 3 seeded Concordia College Cobbers in Moorhead as the No. 6 seed.
The Wildcats starting five were all in double digits on Tuesday evening led by rookie
Hattie Fox posting 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Sophomore
Emme Golembiewski posted her second career double double posting 14 rebounds with ten points while
Greta Schimnowski had 13 points and seven rebounds.
Rachel Randleman contributed a clutch 12 points during crucial moments going along with her six boards and
Karis Zezza scored eleven with four rebounds and seven assists.
St. Kate's shot 83 percent from the free throw line with Zezza hitting 9 of her 11 attempts and Fox going 8 for 10.
Next up for the Wildcats is the MIAC playoff semifinals as they travel to Moorhead, Minnesota to take on the No. 2 seed Cobbers on Thursday, February 22 at 7 pm.
