WINONA, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University basketball team improved their win streak to five with a 60-44 win over the Saint Mary's University Cardinals. The win is the Wildcats third defeat of the Cardinals this season to improve to 17-6 with an MIAC record of 13-5.
Rookie
Hattie Fox supplied ten points in the Wildcats win while adding four rebounds and one assist.
Greta Schimnowski had an eight point performance in Winona going 2-3 from the arc with one rebound as sophomore
Kaylee Miron also had eight with five boards shooting 100 percent from the free throw line. Junior
Rachel Randleman tallied seven with three boards and two steals.
St. Kate's dominated in the opening quarter taking a nine point lead before getting up by 15 at the half. The Wildcats outscored the Cardinals in the third quarter to build a 17 point advantage but let Saint Mary's post 12 to their eleven points for the final 16 point win.
St. Kate's will host the Augsburg University Auggies on Wednesday, February 14 at 7 pm at Butler Center and finish the regular season at the College of Saint Benedict Bennies on Saturday, February 17.
