NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University hockey team fell to the St. Olaf College Oles on Thursday evening in Northfield. The 4-0 conference loss puts St. Kate's at 2-6 with a 1-4 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) record.
St. Olaf took at 2-0 lead after the opening period scoring their first goal at 4:47 followed by another at 11:27. The Oles added their third goal four minutes into the second with St. Kate's able to hold them off through the remainder of the period.
The Oles didn't score again until the final three minutes of the game while on the power play making it 4-0.
Ana Myers led with three shots on goal in the game followed by
Samantha Bogen with two on net and sophomore goalkeeper
Lea Grassia made 24 saves in the game.
The Wildcats return to Drake Arena on Saturday hosting the Oles at 2 pm.
