MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University swimming and diving team completed the final day of the WildBear Invite on Saturday finishing fifth overall in a field of nearly all but one Division II programs. The Wildcats scored 513 points as a team led by junior
Olivia Weil scoring 67 points over the three day mid-season meet.
Weil was seventh in the 500-yard freestyle recoding a time of 5:15.58 in finals and Nicollete Harvey scored four points in the event clocking in at 5:26.27, in 13th place.
In the 200-yard backstroke,
Emma Svendsen just narrowed out
Ella Hochstetler finishing third and fourth, respectively. Svendsen posted a finals time of 2:07.31 as Hochstetler recorded a time of 2:07.91.
Jordyn Grotbo and
Natalie Chandler also both scored points in the event with Grotbo in at 2:16.13 and Chandler in at 2:16.38.
Hochstetler and Svendsen each competed in the 100-yard freestyle with Hochstetler in 13th with a time of 54.82 ahead of Svendsen in at 55.75.
Weil was third in the 200-yard breaststroke scoring 16 points with a time of 2:25.53 as
J Dombroski scored six with a time of 2:32.27.
Avery Doom was 13th in the event recording a time of 2:38.01 and
Sierra Hermansen had a time of 2:38.64 in 14th.
First-year diver,
Macey Morgan was fourth on the 1 mtr diving board scoring a career high 344.80 completing eleven dives.
The meet concluded with the 400-yard freestyle relay led by the Wildcats A relay team of Hochstetler,
Ava Hacker, Svendsen, and Grotbo. St. Kate's B relay team also scored in the event with Weil, Dombroski, Harvey and
Shea Bradley finishing 13th with a time of 3:48.81.
St. Kate's will host an Alumnae Meet on Saturday, December 7th and return to competition in 2025 traveling to Grinnell, Iowa January 17th and 18th.
