BLAINE, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University hockey team earned their first conference win of the 2024-25 season with a 3-0 shutout of the Bethel University Royals. Game two of the MIAC series with the Royals moves St. Kate's to 2-3-0 and 1-1-0 in conference play.
Rookie
Ana Myers recorded her first collegiate hat trick on Saturday evening scoring her first goal with less than three minutes in the second period with help from rookie
Paige Fasching. Myers second goal was scored 12 minutes into the third period off a pass from
Ellie Skaja and her final was an empty net goal with two minutes remaining.
"As special as Ana and Addie's performances were, we played as a group and everyone contributed:, said head coach
Brad Marshall. "This was a big step and confidence booster for our young team."
First-year goaltender
Addie Oettinger made 20 saves in the game earning her first collegiate win. Myers led all skater with nine shots on goal followed by
Samantha Bogen adding four.
The Wildcats travel to Winona, Minnesota on Friday, November 22 facing the No.15 ranked Saint Mary's University Cardinals. They return to Drake Arena on Saturday for game two of the MIAC series at 2 pm.
