Swim and Dive team honors senior class in double dual at home

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University swimming and diving team honored J Dombroski, Mia Hocking and Emma Svendsen on Saturday for senior day. The Wildcats hosted the Hamline Universiy Pipers and Macalester College Scots in a double dual at Butler Center Pool with 14 in season best times, two career best times, three 6-dive 1 mtr best scores and three 3 mtr best scores. 

First-year Macey Morgan was second overall in 1 mtr diving with an overall score of 191.75. Madeline Galazen recorded a score of 130.30 and sophomore Juliet Peterson earned a score of 121.95 as they finished fifth and sixth, respectively. On the 3 mtr board, Morgan was the top finisher scoring 189.45. Galazen had a score of 130.20 in fourth and Peterson tallied a fifth place score of 123.65. 

Swimming started with the 400-yard medley relay as the Wildcats A relay comprised of Ella Hochstetler, Olivia Weil, Emma Svendsen and Jordyn Grotbo had the top time of 4:03.92. 

In the 1000-yard freestyle, Nicolette Harvey was the runner-up touching the wall at 11:47.16.Weil was the Wildcats top finisher in the 200-yard freestyle coming in third with a time of 2:03.46 and finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.94. 

Hochstetler was first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.28 and Svendsen had the top time in the 200-yard butterfly.with a time of 2:11.20. Hochstetler was also first in the 100-yard freestyle in at 55.60. 

St. Kate's top finisher in the 50-yard freestyle was Grotbo with a time of 25.65 as Ava Hacker was fourth in the event with a time of 27.27. Grotbo was also St. Kate's top finisher in the 200-yard backstroke with a time 2:18.28. Weil was the runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle and Dombroski was third in the 100-yard butterfly as the Wildcats top time. 

Svendsen was first in the 200-yard individual medley recording a time of 2:14.84 before anchoring the Wildcats A relay team in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The balance of the relay team included Hochstetler, Hacker and Grotbo while finishing with a time of 1:42.44. 

Up next for the Wildcats is the WildBear Invite as the St. Kate's will co-host the event with Concordia University, St. Paul Thursday-Saturday, in Mendota Heights.
