ST. JOSEPH, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University soccer team earned their fifth shutout of the season with a 3-0 win on the road against the College of Saint Benedict. St. Kate's remains undefeated in conference play with a MIAC record of 4-0-1 and overall record of 7-2-2.
The first goal in the game was the result of the Bennies trying to deflect a corner kick from
Briana Henamann in the 9th minute give the Wildcats the 1-0 advantage.
St. Kate's second goal was score by junior
Natalie Pfleger with her fifth of the season with help from
Claire Cater. Pfleger's goal was scored in the 28th minute putting St. Kate's up 2-0 headed into the half.
Ari Green sealed the win with a goal 15 minutes into the second half for her sixth goal of the season.
The Wildcats' defense held the Bennies to just one shot on goal in 90 minutes with
Kate Praetz recording her fourth shutout of the season and 35th of her career.
St. Kate's will host the Carleton College Knights on Saturday, October 12 for a battle of the top teams in the MIAC. The Wildcats and Knights who are both 4-0-1 in conference play will kick off at 1 pm.
