ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University soccer team hosted the Carleton College Knights on Saturday afternoon for a battle of the top ranked teams in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). The two teams fought to a 1-1 draw putting St. Kate's at 4-0-2 with a overall record 7-2-3.
The Knights struck first knocking one in after a battle in front of the net in the 27th minute. The Wildcats answered in the 51st minute with a brilliant pass from
Claire Cater to
Ari Green. Green bicycle kicked it into the net for her seventh of the season.
It was a team effort throughout the 90 minutes with
Kate Praetz making four saves in the game while St. Kate's fired off six shots on net led by Green with two.
St. Kate's will travel to St. Peter on Wednesday to face the Gustavus Adolphus College Golden Gusties and will play at Macalester College on Saturday. The team returns to St. Kate's Field on Wednesday, October 23 hosting Hamline University.
