ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University swimming & diving team won their first conference dual of the season at Hamline University outscoring the Pipers 738 to 190. The Wildcats were first in every women's event on Saturday at Bush Center Pool.
Overall, the Wildcats posted two career best times, four in-season best times, one eleven-dive 1 mtr best score, one six-dive 3 mtr best score and two first-time 11-dive 3 mtr scores.
Macey Morgan was first in the women's 1 mtr diving with a score of 303.75 scoring 20 points. Maddie Galazen was second on the 1 mtr board with a score of 209.30 with 17 points and
Juliet Peterson finished third with a finals score of 179.85. Morgan was also first on the 3 mtr board scoring 320.80 points ahead of Galazen in second scoring 226.80 points.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Ella Hochstettler,
J Dombroski,
Emma Svendsen, and
Jordyn Grotbo finished with a best-time of 1:56.14.
Ava Hacker,
Avery Doom,
Mira Gupta and
Shea Bradley were the runner ups with a time of 2:06.06 and the team of
Maka Chikowero, Elizabeth Gilman,
Eloise McKeon and
Carys Walsh clocked the fourth best time clocking in at 2:11.08.
In the 3x366 yard relay which included a 200-yard fly, 400-yard IM, and 500-yard freestyle,
Olivia Weil,
Sierra Hermansen, and
Nicolette Harvey were first with a time of 13:49.65.
Richanta Pollard,
Natalie Chandler, and
Clare Cook were second with a time of 14:16.94.
The relay team of Gilman, Doom, Grotbo, and Svendsen won the 400-yard individual medley relay with a time of 4:40.44. Just behind was the team of
Charlotte Johnson, McKeon, Bradley and Dombroski in at 4:40.54.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Weil, Hacker, Hermansen, and Hochstetler were first with a time of 1:46.81 ahead of Walsh, Chickowero, Johnson and Gupta in third with a time of 1:56.92.
Walsh, Pollard, Svendsen, and Doom were first in the 6x50 butterfly relay in at 3:20.55. In second was Harvey, Dombroski, Hacker and Gilman with a time of 3:35.46.
In the 6x50 yard backstroke relay, Bradley, Grotbo, Chandler and Hochstetler were first with a time of 3:07.42 and Gupta McKeon, Cook, and Chikowero finished second with a time of 3:33.59. The final 6x50 race was the breaststroke relay with Pollard, Chandler, Hermansen and Dombroski in first at 3:45.21. Gupta, Johnson, Gilman and Harvey were next at 4:02.69.
In the final event of the dual, St. Kate's team of Svendsen, Hacker, Grotbo, and Hochstetler had the top time of 3:50.72. Doom, Walsh, Weil, and Bradley were third with a time of 4:08.35 and Cook, McKeon, Johnson, and Chikowero clocked in at 4:23.27 in fourth.
The Wildcats travel to the Collegeville on November 2 for a double dual with the College of Saint Benedict and St. Olaf College on the campus of Saint John's University.
