ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University hockey team suffered a 4-0 loss to the No. 15 ranked Saint Mary's University Cardinals on Friday evening at Drake Arena.
Saint Mary's netted their first goal in the 13th minute of the opening period. They scored again just over a minute later for a 2-0 advantage after 20 minutes of play. The Cardinals struck again in the opening minute of the second period to sit at 3-0 for the next 36 minutes of play. Saint Mary's added one final goal with under three to play in the third period for the 4-0 shutout.

Paige Loidolt led the shot count for St. Kate's firing off three on net each. Senior goaltender
Abby Severson made 37 saves in the game with an impressive 16 saves in the second period.
The Wildcats travel to Winona, Minnesota on Saturday for game two of the series with the Cardinals. The conference game is scheduled for 2 pm.
