Wildcats down Auggies 68-56

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University basketball team extended their win streak to four with a dominating win over Augsburg on Wednesday night in Minneapolis. Hattie Fox and Greta Schimnowski led the purple and gold to a 68-56 MIAC win improving to 8-4 overall and 6-3 in the conference. 

Fox and Schimnowski each supplied 15 points on the road as Fox tallied her second double double of the season with 14 rebounds while again shooting 100 percent from the free throw line for the sixth time this season. Schimnowski recorded her eighth double digit points game of her junior season with 15 adding seven rebounds and three steals. 

Maddie Young and Emme Golembieski also played a key role in the win as Young added eleven points and three rebounds in just 14 minutes on the court and Golembiewski posted ten rebounds, eight points and one block. 

St. Kate's held onto the lead for the majority of the game outscoring Augsburg in the first three quarters to build a a 17 point lead headed into the fourth quarter. The Auggies posted 18 points to the Wildcats 13 but it wasn't enough to overcome the lead built in the third. 

St. Kate's returns to action on Saturday hosting the College of Saint Benedict at 1 pm inside of Butler Center.
