ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University softball team picked up two Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) wins on Senior Day downing the Concordia College Cobbers 14-13 in game one followed by a 4-2 victory for the sweep. The pair of wins puts St. Kate's at 10-4 in the conference with a 16-14 overall record.

Jasmine Ziegler had a day in game one with two home runs and five RBI while hitting 3 for 4. The Cobbers took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning with a three-run homer before Zielger answered back in the bottom of the second bringing in Kylie Kohout and
Helen McKinnon. Senior
Julia Azure was responsible for driving in the Wildcats fourth in before McKinnon hit a two-run single giving St. Kate's a 6-3 lead headed into the third. Concordia went on to add two more in the top of the third while McKinnon hit a sac fly in the bottom of the fourth to bring in Posey for the 7-5 lead. The Cobbers took a two run lead in the fifth but St. Kate's added four to take the two run lead again. Concordia went on to knot it up at 11-11 in the top of the sixth before Ziegler hit her second homer brining in McKinnon again. The top of the seventh saw Concordia again tie it at 13-13 off a two-run home run but McKinnon's single in the bottom frame drove in
Taylor Brunn for the walkoff win.
McKinnon was 4 for 4 with four RBI and two runs while Brunn was 4 for 5 with one RBI and three runs.
GAME TWO | St. Catherine 4, Concordia 2
The pair of Zielger and McKinnon were hot again in game two getting the Wildcats to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Concordia tied it in the fourth but McKinnon's double drove in
Sarah Posey before Zielger's single drove in McKinnon for the 4-2 final. They were both 2 for 3 in the second game with McKinnon scoring two runs and one RBI while Ziegler tallied two RBI. Posey and Azure were responsible for the Wildcats two other runs.
St. Kate's is home again on Thursday, April 27 hosting the Gustavus Adolphus College Golden Gusties for Mental Health Awareness Day with the doubleheader starting at 3:30pm.
