WINONA, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University tennis team picked up a dominating 9-0 victory over Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) foe, Saint Mary's on Sunday in Winona. With the win, the Wildcats improve to 4-6 on the season with a conference record of 2-3.
Rookie
Anna Luksik and senior
Erin Loterbauer had a shutout win at No. 3 doubles downing their opponents 8-0. At No. 2 doubles, senior
Elsa Joly and junior
Erica Wing claimed their match 8-1 while seniors
Kelsey Dorr and
Sofia Walker battled at No. 1 recording a 8-6 match win.
Dorr dominated at No. 1 singles winning 6-0, 6-0 and Walker took the No. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-0.
Joly played the No. 3 match for the purple and gold earning a point after a 7-5, 6-3 win and
Monica Zink was victorious at No. 4, 6-3, 6-3.
At No. 5 singles, Luksik improved her season record to 7-3 with a four match win streak after winning 6-2, 6-0 and
Lily Vang improved to 5-5 winning at No. 6, 6-1, 6-0.
St. Catherine returns to action Saturday, April 8 hosting Carleton College at noon. That match will be played inside of Baseline Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota.
