ORLANDO, Fla. -- The St. Catherine University tennis team picked up a dominating win over Olgethorpe University on Wednesday downing the Stormy Petrels 7-2 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
In singles play,
Kelsey Dorr defeated her competition 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 1 position.
Sofia Walker edged out the Olgethorpe's No. 2 singles player 6-2, 6-4. At No. 4,
Monica Zink was successful with a 6-2, 6-3 victory and her doubles partner,
Anna Luksik achieved a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5. The Wildcats final singles point belonged to
Lily Vang with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6. The Stormy Petrels lone singles point was at No. 3 with
Elsa Joly falling 6-4, 6-2.
Dorr and Walker claimed an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles to remain undefeated on the season, while Luksik and Zink won 8-4 for their first win together at No. 3 doubles. Olgethorpe picked up one double's point, defeating Joly and
Erica Wing at No. 2 by a score of 8-3.
St. Catherine will play one final match in Orlando taking on William Smith College on Thursday at 7 am CDT.
