MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University dance team appeared in the DX Americup Regional Championships on Sunday finishing in second place overall while also earning a judges award for best choreography.
"We were all so excited to debut our new routine at the DX Americup Championship", said head coach
Alexa Boderman. "This is the first year since 2017 that our program has competed in the jazz category, and we are all excited to continue preparing and getting ready for college dance nationals at the end of the month."
The Wildcats finished with a team score of 90.6 being critiqued on technique, choreography and execution, showmanship, and costumes. Overall, in technique, the Wildcats posted an average score of 31.8 out of 35. In choreography and execution, they averaged 31.9 out of 35 and in showmanship they were given an average of 16.9 out of 20. They also earned a perfect score of 10 from each judge in the costume category.Â
The Wildcat dancers have one final home performance, debuting their nationals routine at the halftime of the St. Kate's basketball game on February 18 at 3 pm. Following that, they will travel to the USA College Championships February 25-26 in Anaheim, California.Â
