BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University tennis team opened the 2023 spring season with a 9-0 victory over Martin Luther College at the Bloomington Lifetime Fitness on Saturday evening.
In singles, No. 16 ranked
Kelsey Dorr won her match 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1. In the No. 2 singles match,
Sofia Walker defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-2 and
Elsa Joly won at No. 3 6-0, 6-2.
Monica Zink was victorious at No. 4 with a 6-0, 6-1 win and rookie
Anna Luksik made her debut at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-1 win. Also making their debut for the Wildcats was junior
Lily Vang who joined the team this fall. Vang played at No. 6 with a 6-0, 6-2 win.
In doubles play, Dorr and Walker went 8-1 at No. 1, Joly and Zink won 8-0 at No. 2 and
Erica Wing and Luksik claimed the No. 3 match 8-1.
Next up for the Wildcats is the University of Stevens Point on Friday, February 24 hosting the Pointers at Baseline Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota at 6:30 pm.
