Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University hockey team recognized seven graduating seniors on Friday evening capping off their final regular season game inside of Drake Arena with an overtime win over the College of Saint Benedict 3-2. Sophomore defender,
Joslin Mumm gave the seniors a night to remember with a wrap around goal with 48 seconds left for the win.
First-year
Ellie Skaja scored first for the Wildcats at 8:41 in the opening period assisted by
Madi Fleming and
Lauren Henriksen.
The Bennies scored to tie it up four minutes into the third period before senior
Laura Denchfield added her 11th goal of the season with under 8 minutes left.
Two minutes later, the Bennies struck again to knot it up at 2-2 and force the three on three five minute overtime. Mumm's goal gave the Wildcats the crucial win to remain in the running for MIAC playoffs and momentum headed to St. Cloud for Saturday's regular season finale at 4 pm.
Fifth-year
Elizabeth Kubicek was a key player in the team's win making 28 saves on the night and shutting down two Bennie breakaways late in the game.
