ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University hockey team was defeated by the College of St. Scholastica Saints on Friday evening at Drake Arena. The loss is the teams fourth straight for a record of 3-5-1 and 1-3-1 in the MIAC.

Lauren Henriksen. St. Kate's held the lead until a challenging last two minutes of second period with St. Scholastica scoring two goals in under a minute taking the lead.
The Saints opened the third period with back to back goals getting a three goal cushion with 18 minutes left in the period.
Senior
Samantha Lackmann restarted the momentum for St. Kate's with 8 minutes remaining scoring her second goal of the season from the point off a pass from senior
Emmie Verhaagh. Skaja scored the final goal of the game a minute later assisted by Henriksen cutting the Saints lead to just one.
The Wildcats were plagued by penalties in final five minutes of play and unable to score allowing the Saints to claim the conference win.
St. Kate's travels to Duluth on Saturday for game two of the MIAC series with the Saints. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 pm at Mars Lakeview Arena.
