ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University basketball team posted their second straight game scoring over 80 points with a dominating 83-45 defeat over the Saint Mary's University Cardinals. The Wildcats win opened the MIAC season playing against their home crowd for the first time this season at Butler Center.

Hattie Fox had another double digit performance with 13 points and 3 rebounds plus three assists. Junior Sydney Elliot was clutch from behind the three-point line going 2 for 2 scoring eleven points and grabbing three boards. In total, eleven players scored at least three points for more in the win and
Maddie Young led all players with seven rebounds.
The Wildcats were off to a quick start with a 19 point lead after the first quarter. St. Kate's held Saint Mary's to just five points in the second quarter while scoring 18 for a halftime score of 48-16.
The Cardinals came out of the half strong with a game high 19 points but the Wildcats didn't slow down adding 23 point performance to the box score. Both teams slowed down in the last ten minutes with St. Kate's scoring 12 to Saint Mary's 10 for an 83-45 win. The win is the largest margin the Wildcats have recorded over the Cardinals and their seventh straight win over the conference foe.
St. Kate's returns to action on Tuesday as they travel to Duluth, Minnesota facing the College of St. Scholastica. In their last matchup, the Wildcats defeated the Saints 82-53.
