Praetz records nation best ninth shutout with 1-0 win over UW-Stout

MENOMONIE, Wis. -- The St. Catherine University soccer team recorded it's ninth shutout of the 2023 season defeating the University of Wisconsin-Stout, 1-0 on the road Wednesday evening. The shutout win lands senior goalkeeper, Kate Praetz, her ninth of the season to lead all goalies in Division III and improves the Wildcats to 10-2 overall.

Sophomore forward Briana Henaman scored the lone goal of the contest in the 62nd minute unassisted. Henaman's third goal of the season was also her first game-winner of her career. Henaman tallied two shots on goal in the game just behind senior forward Ari Green firing off four.

Praetz made six saves in the contest to improve to a goals against average of .333 with a save percentage of .942, the 13th best average in Division III.

The Wildcats travel to Carleton College on Saturday for a rematch of the MIAC Playoff Championship from 2022 with St. Kate's coming out on top for their third playoff title. The conference game is scheduled for 1 pm in Northfield.
