ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine Hockey team fell in overtime to the Hamline University Pipers 4-3 at Tria Rink on Friday. The Wildcats are now 9-4-1 overall with a 3-3-1 record in the MIAC.
The Pipers scored first in the first period before adding their second goal early in the first period and scored again at 4:37 in the second taking a 2-0 lead.
Junior
Lauren Henriksen scored a power play goal at 12:40 in the second before knotting the game up at 16:19 with a goal from Henriksen. Henriksens first goal was assisted by
Kaitlyn Blair and
Paige Loidolt. Her second goal had help from senior
Brittany Weber.
The Pipers went up by one late in the second period taking a 3-2 lead until the last minute of the third period when rookie
Isabel Burt found the back of the net forcing overtime with an assist from junior
Emmie Verhaagh and
Ellie Skaja.
The Pipers claimed an overtime win over the Wildcats less than two minutes into the first overtime.
St. Kate's hosts Hamline on Saturday at Drake Arena with the puck drop scheduled for 2 pm.
