ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine soccer team picked up their first tie of the 2022 season recording a 1-1 contest with non-conference opponent, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. St. Kate's is now 4-2-1 with an conference record of 1-0. 

The heat slowed the pace of the first half resulting in a scoreless contest until first-year Ashley Fugitt scored her first collegiate goal in the 44th minute. The Wildcats were able to hold the Blugolds off until the last ten minutes of play when they knotted the game up at 1-1. 

Fifth-year Sofia Campbell had three shots on goal in the game plus five total giving a dominating performance in the midfield. 

In 90 minutes in net, junior Kate Praetz made five saves allowing just one goal. 

The Wildcats return to conference play on Saturday traveling to Saint Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota for a 1 pm kickoff.
