ORLANDO, Fla. -- St. Catherine tennis dropped their first match of the season with a 5-4 loss to Hope College to close out their time in Florida.
St. Kate's claimed a win at No. 1 doubles with
Kelsey Dorr and
Sofia Walker defeating Sydney Jackson and Sullivan Patel 8-5. Hope took matches No. 2 and No. 3 with
Bri Dorr and
Monica Zink dropping their first doubles match of the year at No. 2. Dorr and Zink fell to Saydee Johns and Taylor Truman 8-2 and
Reilee Schepper and
Elsa Joly were also edged out at No. 3, 8-2.
K. Dorr was successful at No. 1 singles cruising past Jackson 6-2, 6-2 however, Walker fell at No. 2 to Patel by a decisive 6-0, 6-0.
Despite falling in doubles, B. Dorr and Zink both won their singles match for the Wildcats third and forth points. B. Dorr played a tight match coming out with a 4-6, 7-6, 12-10 win at No. 3. Zink played at No. 6 with a 7-6, 6-3 victory.
Joly fell at No. 4 with a score of 6-2, 6-0 and Schepper dropped the No. 5 singles match 6-1, 6-1.
The Wildcats return to Minnesota and conference play on Saturday, April 2 hosting Saint Mary's University at Baseline Tennis Center.
