MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The St. Catherine tennis team returned to conference play on Saturday securing a 9-0 win over the Saint Mary's University Cardinals at Baseline Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota. St. Kate's improves to 7-1 on the season and is 4-0 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).
The duo of
Kelsey Dorr and
Sofia Walker edged out Natalie Peterson and Emily Henderson 8-2 at No. 1 doubles maintaining their flawless doubles record this season.
Bri Dorr and
Monica Zink picked up a point at No. 2 doubles defeating Kennedy Morgan and Maggie Frye 8-6. The final doubles match went to
Elsa Joly and
Reilee Schepper by a score of 8-3.
K. Dorr defeated Peterson 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 while Walker claimed the win at No. 2 over Morgan 6-2, 6-0. B. Dorr won at No. 3 with a 6-2, 7-5 score, and Joly won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 4. Schepper and Zink played at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively with Schepper picking up a 6-1, 6-3 win and Zink going 6-2, 6-0 for the win.
The Wildcats are on the road for their next contest on Saturday, April 9 traveling to Carleton College for a 2 pm match.
