ORLANDO, Fla. -- The St. Catherine tennis team extended their win streak to six edging out Pacific University in Orlando at the USTA National Campus. The Wildcats won the match 6-3 taking doubles from the Boxers but dropping matches at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 singles.
The No. 1 doubles duo of
Kelsey Dorr and
Sofia Walker defeated Sydnie and Cassidy Binder 8-5 and the No. 2 team of
Bri Dorr and
Monica Zink were successful with a score of 8-6. Reilee Scheper and
Elsa Joly took down their opponent 8-1 at No. 3 to go up 3-0 headed into singles.
B. Dorr, Schepper and Zink claimed the Wildcats three other wins at No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6, respectively. B. Dorr dropped her first set to come back and win in the third set to take the match 1-6, 6-2, 10-4. Schepper downed her doubles match-up 6-1, 6-1 and Zink played the other No. 3 doubles player with a 6-1, 7-5 victory.
K. Dorr took her first singles loss of the season falling to Cassidy Binder 6-4, 6-2. Walker fell to Sydnie Binder 6-2, 6-0 and Joly dropped the No. 4 match 6-1, 6-3.
The Wildcats close out their time in Florida on Tuesday facing Hope College at 6:30 pm.
