ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University hockey team earned a weekend conference sweep over Concordia with a 4-2 win on Saturday to remain undefeated at Drake Arena so far this season.The Wildcats improve to 6-1-1 on the season with a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) record of 2-1-1. The team's last MIAC sweep was against St. Olaf on January 24 and 25th of 2020.
Joslin Mumm got things started for the Wildcats on Saturday finding the back of the net with help from
Ellie Skaja and
Paige Loidolt a minute into the game.
Laura Denchfield walked in the Wildcats second goal on her own at 9:20 off the clock.
Concordia scored their first of the game at 15:59 and scored again while on the power play with two minutes left to play in the first.
Lindsey Hays claimed the game-winner in game two of the series scoring at 2:38 in the second assisted by
Gabby Bodin from Lauren Henrisken.
Marie Reimer netted the final goal of the game seconds into the third from Denchfield and junior
Madi Fleming.
Elizabeth Kubicek had 24 saves in the game earning the win. Denchfield had seven shots on goal tallying two points followed by Reimer and Hays each adding two four shots on goal along with a goal each.
The Wildcats are on the road December 3 traveling to Duluth for game one of the MIAC series with St. Scholastica. They return to Drake Arena for a 2 pm game on Saturday, November 3 hosting the Saints.
