ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University hockey team defeated a scrappy Concordia College Cobbers on Friday evening earning their first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) win of the season. The 5-1-1 Wildcats were led by first-year
Paige Loidolt adding the team's first and last goals in the game.
Loidolt's first goal was scored at 14:04 on the clock getting her first game-winner of her career assisted by senior
Kaitlyn Blair and rookie
Ellie Skaja.
It was a three-goal second period with
Madi Fleming getting things started for the with while on the player advantage assisted by
Laura Denchfield. Less than 30 seconds later,
Marie Reimer added the team's third assisted by sophomore
Joslin Mumm and first-year
Raechel Painovich.
Concordia snapped the shutout a minute later and scored their second goal with less than three minutes in the game while on a power play.
Loidolt finished the night for St. Kate's scoring an unassisted goal right away in the third. Concordia went on to add one final goal with the purple and gold in the box.
Junior goaltender
Abby Severson earned the win making 23 saves allowing two goals.
