NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University soccer team closed out the regular season with a 2-1 decision over the St. Olaf College Oles. The Wildcats finish 11-4-3 earning the No. 3 seed in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) hosting No. 6 Macalester in the Quarterfinals on Tuesday, November 1.
The first half 48 minutes of play were scoreless on both ends of the pitch until first-year
Natalie Pfleger scored her second goal of the season and the game-winner off a pass from fifth-year
Lauren Witte.
Witte gave St. Kate's a two-goal advantage at 54:01 with help from junior Kallie Tuominen. Witte's goal was her eight of the season ranking her fifth in the conference this season. She also tied for fourth in the conference for assists along with junior
Ari Green.
St. Olaf's goal was scored with just four minutes to play for the 2-1 final.
Both of the Wildcats were 100 percent with shots on goal in the game firing off 16 shots in total.

Kate Praetz played the complete game making two saves and allowing one goal.
The MIAC Playoffs begin Tuesday with St. Kate's hosting Macalester at 2 pm. The winner of that game will advance to play the No. 2 seed, College of Saint Benedict on Wednesday, November 2 at 2 pm. St. Kate's defeated Macalester and Saint Ben's in the regular season 3-1 and 2-1, respectively.
