MENOMONIE, Wis. -- The St. Catherine track & field team traveled to the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie to compete in the Warren Bowlus Open with a field of regional competition. Four PR's were recorded on the day, all of which happened on the track.
Madi Genz was one second shy of her PR in the 60 meter dash finals finishing sixth with a time of 8.18 Genz also appeared in the 200 meter finals clocking in at 28.08 in eighth overall.
Claire Nichols joined Genz in the 60 meter dash prelims finishing with a PR time of 8.46 while also participating in the high jump and long jump. In the high jump, Nichols' best mark was 1.38m, good for seventh place and she finished 11th in the long jump with a mark of 4.68m.
It was a PR day in the mile for St. Kate's as
Emma Meyer finished 14th with a PR time of 6:25.08 and
Lily Harvey finished 16th with a PR time of 6:48.95.
Senior
Julia Clark and junior
Morgan Brandt represented the Wildcats in the 3K finishing 17th and 27th, respectively. Clark had a time of 11:21.97 while Brandt finished at 12:38.05.
Burnices Barlue rounded out the running events finishing fifth overall in the 60 meter hurdles earning a PR in prelims with a time of 10.22, just one second faster than her finals time. The rookie multi-event athlete finished 13th in the long jump with a mark of 4.48m and sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 9.89m.
Barlue was joined in the long and triple jump by fellow teammates
Reilee Schepper and
Bryana Leverentz on Saturday. Schepper was second overall in the triple jump with a mark of 10.59m and was eighth in the long jump going 4.88m. Leverentz was eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 9.53m and 19th in the long jump at 3.99m.
Abby Althoff and
Lydia Wehrspann were back to back in the rankings in the shot put with Althoff throwing 8.92m and Wehrspann recording a mark of 8.76m. Wehrspann also appeared in the weight throw with a mark of 8.58m.
